Lexington Medical Center’s Imaging Department offers some of the latest and most sophisticated imaging technology to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and injury. One example is the 128 slice Siemen’s Somatom Definition AS Scanner that reduces radiation exposure to patients. The scanner has the capabilities of performing axial and helical scanning, computed angiography, 3D scans, neuro DSA and many other advanced technologies.
Our team of highly skilled radiologists provides 24-hour coverage, and the department's imaging capabilities provide an unprecedented view of the inner workings of the human body.
Diagnostic Services
All outpatient diagnostic radiology procedures are accessed through the new Outpatient Center. The Center provides expanded and consolidated radiological services and features a private women's center for mammography and bone density testing.
Accredited Vascular Lab
Lexington Medical Center’s Vascular Lab is accredited by The Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). The department holds accreditations encompassing carotid duplex, venous duplex and arterial imaging. A total of 45 vascular labs across North Carolina are accredited, 16 of which are hospital-based labs.
Lexington Medical Center’s vascular laboratory is a part of a select number of vascular labs across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to meet or exceed the ICAVL stands for noninvasive vascular testing. Early detection of life-threatening vascular diseases is possible through the use of noninvasive vascular testing techniques performed within the vascular laboratory. It is an integral part of the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in the United States.
Accredited Mammography Services
Lexington Medical Center’s Mammography Department is accredited by the American College of Radiologists. The accreditation ensures the highest level of mammography imaging.
